History

Kevin Leik was born and raised in Iowa. As a youth he was an academic standout, eventually becoming a National Merit Scholar. He was also a successful bicycle racer, and earned a number one plate for the state of Iowa in his early teens. He began working at the age of sixteen, first as a laborer in an ice factory, and later in various positions in the restaurant industry. He continued working as a restaurant employee throughout college and law school, ultimately managing several different nightclubs and restaurants.

Kevin graduated from law school in 1997. On graduation he accepted a position as corporate counsel in the real estate division of Menard, Inc., the nation’s third largest home improvement retailer. Over the next several years he became one of the leaders in the division, and handled negotiations on purchases and sales of property valued in the tens of millions of dollars. He also became a company expert in leasing issues, handling lease negotiations and litigation arising from the company’s extensive real estate holdings throughout the upper Midwest.

Kevin eventually left Menard, Inc. to pursue his interest in litigation. He spent several years honing his skills in the courtroom in Las Vegas, Nevada representing children in dependency proceedings and as a public defender. During that time he handled cases ranging from simple misdemeanors to murder. He was also given the opportunity to draft complex appellate pleadings, and successfully argued before the state Supreme Court on multiple occasions.

Kevin left his position as a public defender and resumed private practice in 2010. He moved his firm to Oregon, and has built his clientele representing small businesses and individuals in all manner of real estate, commercial contract, and business litigation matters. In addition, he maintains a thriving criminal defense practice to keep his courtroom skills honed and at the ready. He looks forward to the opportunity to use his skills to benefit you.
